Stages of education in the British programme at RCIS:

Stage 1 (Cambridge Upper Secondary)

For the first two years, students attend classes in 6-8 subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and, as an additional option, Geography and History. These subjects are taught exclusively in English on the basis of curricula developed by the University of Cambridge and with English language textbooks. After two years, students can take IGCSE exams (International General Certificate of Secondary Education).

In the first and second grades of high school, Polish students also study Polish language and literature, Polish history and Polish geography and these subjects are taught in Polish. Foreign students, on the other hand, take part in Polish as a foreign language classes. All students also take PE.

Stage 2 (Cambridge Advanced)

In the third and fourth years of high school, students choose 3-4 subjects that they want to continue and in which they will prepare for the International A-level Exams, consisting of AS and A2 components (see below). The exact choice of subjects should be decitated first of all by the area of study the student wants to pursue at univeristy. At Regent College IS students need to attend at least three of the following subjects: English Language, Spanish Language, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, HistoryThe only additional and obligatory Polish subject in the third and fourth grades is the Polish language. Beyond that we also provide additional options of preparation for A-Level exams in subjects such as Business, Further Mathematics, Psychology and Sociology

At the end of the third grade students take the International AS-Level exams. In the fourth grade they take the so called A2 components of the International A-Level exams (extended level). The full International A-Level qualification consists of AS and A2 comonents.

The programme is very flexible. It not only allows the students to focus exclusively on the subjects that matter most for them but it also allows, for instance, to resit the AS exams twice within 13 months before the final A-Level certificate is issued.
