On November 8th, our school celebrated Independence Day combined with Tie Day, giving students not only a chance to honor a historic holiday but also to enjoy some fun. On this day, students from grades 1-4 of high school could participate in a contest for the most interesting tie.
The submitted ties were judged by a panel consisting of Ms. Monika Polak, Principal Mariusz Krajewski, and Vice Principal Anna Martowicz. Entries were evaluated based on three criteria: craftsmanship, originality, and overall impression. The tie with the highest score awarded its creator a unique prize – a “pass” allowing them to improve one chosen test grade by one point.
Precisely at 11:11, the school united in singing Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, symbolizing a moment of unity and patriotism.
After the ceremony, it was time to announce the results of the tie contest.
To close the celebration, a special Independence Day knowledge quiz took place for high school students. Each class selected two representatives to test their knowledge on Poland’s recovery of independence and related historical events. The quiz questions were prepared by Franciszek Olechnowicz.
This year’s celebration was both a time for reflection and an opportunity for enjoyment, fostering student creativity, integration, and patriotism.
