Education and Experience
I graduated from San Francisco State University, where I did both my Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and my Bachelor’s degree in English Education. I have about two years of experience teaching at the university level; I have taught several introductory reading and writing classes at San Francisco State University through the Oxford University Pathways program. I also have about two years of experience working at San Francisco State University’s American Language Institute, and almost 4 years of experience tutoring English reading, writing and grammar for native and non-native English speakers.
Academic Interests
I have experience and interest in curriculum development, particularly in the creation of extracurricular English conversation clubs. I have experience developing two curriculums for English conversation clubs for non-credit English programs. Outside of curriculum development, I am interested in the social function and cultural usage of language and pragmatics in English.
Hobbies
In my free time I love to take walks, go to concerts, watch movies and TV series, and listen to music (all genres, but my favorites are pop, alternative, rock, and classical). I also greatly enjoy exploring new places, language learning and traveling. I am always happy to talk about movies, music, and travel :).
